🧠 Buyer Psychology: Sell without the Sleazy Simon vibes!

❌Don’t be a Sleazy Simon - sleazy marketing tactics don’t build trust!

It’s about understanding how humans make decisions… and gently sprinkling psychological rocket fuel on your message.

Here’s my quick + dirty guide to using buyer psychology like a pro:

👀 1. Trigger Curiosity

Humans hate missing out and love answers to unfinished stories.
Open loops = attention.

Do this:
Instead of: “Here’s my offer…”
Try: “I tested something weird and it 3Xed my sales…”

Curiosity is the gateway drug to sales.

🧲 2. Use Familiarity

The brain buys what it recognises, remembers, or relates to.
Familiarity = trust. Trust = money.

Do this:
Use:

  • Hooks based on shared experience

  • Nostalgia

  • “That’s so me” humour

  • Regular repeated visuals (hello, GSD purple + yellow)

(Yes, this is why people buy cereal mascots and iPhones.)

🧠 3. Reduce Cognitive Load

People buy when it’s easy.
Confused brains don’t get wallets out.

Do this:

  • 1 clear promise

  • 1 action

  • Short copy

  • Remove fluff

  • Tell them what happens next

Make it obvious.

🔥 4. Tap Into Emotion

Spoiler: people don’t buy logically — they justify logically.
The sale happens in the emotional brain.

Do this:
Hit emotional points like:

  • “I want to feel in control”

  • “I want to look smart”

  • “I want to stop feeling overwhelmed”

  • “I want this to be easier”

Then add logic to back it up.

🏆 5. Show Social Proof

We’re herd animals in nicer shoes.
If others are doing it, we trust it.

Do this:
Use:

  • Testimonials

  • Screenshots

  • Before/after

  • Mini case studies

  • “Thousands of solopreneurs…”

Proof turns claims into facts.

🎯 6. Make the Outcome Concrete

People don’t buy features — they buy the win.

Do this:
Instead of:
“I’ll help you with content strategy.”
Say:
“I’ll help you create posts that turn strangers into clients.”

Sell the destination, not the vehicle.

💸 7. Use Loss Aversion

Humans fear losing more than they love winning.
The thought of missing out hurts.

Do this:

  • “Don’t miss the strategy everyone else will know”

  • “If you skip this, you’ll still be stuck doing X”

  • Time-bound offers

  • Limited bonuses

Not sleazy — just psychology.

Humour, weird stories, chaos energy - it all bypasses the boring filter.

Familiarity + emotion + curiosity = buying energy.

Your voice is your unfair advantage - use it.
