Successful solopreneurs like Justin Welsh and Katelyn Bourgoin sell their "brain" (knowledge, frameworks, and intellectual property) instead of trading their time for money.

Justin Welsh is well known for helping people build a One-Person Business. That's the ownable idea people associate with him.

And Katelyn Bourgoin has done something similar. She isn't just another marketing consultant. She's built her reputation around buyer psychology and understanding why customers buy.

People know her as The Customer Whisperer and the Buyer Psychology Queen. Those aren't job titles. They're ownable ideas wrapped around her expertise.

That's what happens when you package your expertise into something memorable. People stop remembering what you do and start remembering what you stand for.

That's the real lesson - people don't remember services, they remember ownable ideas.

The challenge for most solopreneurs is that they haven't packaged their expertise into an ownable idea that people immediately associate with their name.

Many solopreneurs, especially Virtual Assistants are still pricing their services by the hour. When I first started my business that’s exactly what I did until I realised that I was shooting myself in the foot as I was so quick plus faffing around filling out timesheets stressed me out and wasted so much time!
